What We Do
Use the below for a sampling of services which can inspire you on how we can work together.
If what you’re imagining isn’t listed here, let’s talk!
Story Quilters helps communities explore complex stories with care, curiosity, and collaboration—turning that shared work into visitor-centered interpretation and community connection.
We partner with museums, parks, public agencies, and community groups to engage people around histories, values, issues, and place—crafting interpretation and experiences that people can encounter with clarity, honesty, and trust.

-

Facilitation and Community Conversations
We need to find ways to talk to each other again. Leaning largely on work in partnership with Braver Angels, we design structured engagement processes that bring people together around complex questions, help communities reflect on multiple perspectives, and build shared direction for interpretive work and civic planning.
-

Workshops & Training
It was love at first training. From hosting interpretive learning circles to full week virtual or in-person trainings, our workshops and trainings build practical skills in interpretation, engagement, and conversation—supporting professionals who work with visitors, communities, and complex stories.
-

Exhibits, Signage & Programming
We turn shared understanding into clear, engaging interpretive work.
We partner with you to translate stories into compelling interpretive tools—exhibits, site signage, guided programs, digital elements, and learning experiences grounded in community insight and research. -

Interpretive & Strategic Planning
We support strategic & interpretive planning that connects mission, story, and action—so plans reflect both purpose and place. From small museums to large sites, we have over two decades of experience teaching and implementing interpretive plans. We’ll work together to find new ways to share complex history, lift up previously undiscovered stories and set a path to connect our visitor to the places we love.
Our work with NGOs, downtown associations, and community groups centers people and place—resulting in strategic plans that reflect shared values and practical realities.
